dV/dt is the amount of voltage change per unit time. The steeper the rising slope of VDS, the more likely it is that the dV/dt failure of the MOSFET will occur.

dV/dt failure is a phenomenon in which the charging current flowing through the parasitic capacitance Cds flows through the base resistor RB when the MOSFET is turned off, causing the parasitic bipolar transistor to conduct, causing a short circuit and causing failure.

Generally speaking, the worse the reverse recovery characteristics are and the steeper the dV/dt slope is, the easier it is to cause MOSFET dV/dt failure.

Concept introduction of RJ45 connector with coil transformer

The goal of the connector’s impedance transformation is to match the resistance and reactance to achieve maximum transmission power for the load. Both the receiving and transmitting components at both ends of the network can provide efficiency and sensitivity. To realize this function, the use of RJ45 connector with coil is essential.

The basic concept of impedance transformation is that when the impedance between the front-stage circuit and the subsequent-stage circuit does not match, the transmission efficiency between the front-stage circuit as the signal source and the subsequent-stage circuit as the load is not high. Therefore, it is necessary to use a coiled RJ45 connection machine to complete the impedance transformation without loss or low loss.

The impedance conversion function can be achieved by using a transformer. The simplest way is to change the number of coil turns.

The RJ45 connector with coil can convert the discontinuous signal step transition into a smooth continuous transition through the impedance conversion function. This conversion is linear, so a good match can be achieved, providing better bandwidth.

Through the impedance conversion function, combined with filter circuits and coupling circuits, the operating frequency range of network components can be increased.
